Public transportation
Free shuttle bus (line MX) from the city and harbor stations (ferry terminal) to the trade fair grounds and back for selected fairs.

From Germany
- from Stuttgart
A81 / A98 to the end of the highway (exit Bodensee / Lindau). Then take the B31 to Friedrichshafen.
Alternatively: A8 to the Ulm West exit, then continue on the B30 to Friedrichshafen. - from Würzburg / Munich
A96 (towards Lindau) to the Sigmarszell / Friedrichshafen exit. From there, take the B31 to Friedrichshafen. - from Ulm
A8 to the Ulm West exit, then continue on the B30 to Friedrichshafen.
From Austria
- from Bregenz
A14 / A96 to the Sigmarszell / Friedrichshafen exit. From there, take the B31 to Friedrichshafen. - from Salzburg
Via Munich on the A96 to the Sigmarszell / Friedrichshafen exit. From there, take the B31 to Friedrichshafen.
From Switzerland

N7 to Kreuzlingen / Konstanz, then take the Konstanz-Meersburg car ferry (nonstop service) and continue on the B31 to Friedrichshafen.

N1 to Romanshorn, then take the Romanshorn-Friedrichshafen car ferry (hourly service).

If possible, switch from car to the passenger ferry in Switzerland and take advantage of the BSB combination ticket. Advantage: No traffic jams at the ferry, no parking search in Friedrichshafen, and no waiting at the ticket office (not available for all fairs).
You will find several charging stations on our trade fair grounds: In the East 2 car park, in the West 1 and East 1 car parks and in front of Hall B1. Electric vehicles can be charged with costs during events, congresses or conferences at one of the designated locations (Costs: €25 per charging process, incl. parking fee). Please note that you cannot reserve charging stations in advance. Refer to our info sheet for more information about the charging options.

From Switzerland
SBB route Basel / Lindau or to Romanshorn, with hourly ferry service to Friedrichshafen. Take the Intercity from Zurich and Winterthur to Konstanz. In Konstanz, there is a direct connection to the catamaran to Friedrichshafen.

From Austria
Visitors from western Austria travel via ÖBB through Bregenz and the German transfer station Lindau. From the rest of Austria, the long-distance routes through Munich / Ulm to Friedrichshafen are recommended.

Bodensee Airport Friedrichshafen is located close to the trade fair grounds.
Messe Friedrichshafen is also easy to reach from Memmingen, Munich and Stuttgart airports.
Zurich Airport has excellent connections to Friedrichshafen by train or a combination of ferry and train or catamaran and train. Most taxi companies offer a shuttle service to Zurich Airport.
The company Flixbus also serves Friedrichshafen. The intercity buses stop at Friedrichshafen city station.
